Rotation and application of lathes.
In order for the lathe tool to be able to cut off excess metal from rough parts, during turning, the lathe spindle sets the workpiece in rotation, which is called the main movement; the rest of the lathe tool sets the lathe in motion. longitudinally, transversely or in a straight line. Called feed motion. Through the relative motion of the turning tool and the workpiece, the rough parts are cut into parts of a certain geometric shape, size and surface quality that meet the requirements specified in the drawing.
In a machine shop, lathes account for about half of the total number of machine tools. Lathes have a wide range of processing, mainly processing various rotating surfaces, including ends, outer circles, inner circles, cones, threads, rotary grooves, rotating forming surfaces and knurling, etc. The dimensional accuracy of ordinary turning is generally IT10~IT8, the surface roughness value is Ra=6.3~1.6μm.
